OUR BOATS ARE A FAVORITE PLACE FOR MOLD SPORES! A 5-STAR HOTEL!

Airborne mold spores are everywhere and in a warm and damp environment (such as our boats), they will settle on a surface and begin their new life maturing into mold.

A perfect example of this "environment" occurs almost every night on boats kept in or near the water - the calm and very humid air leaves a thick layer of dew on practically every exterior surface. A towel hung over a seat to dry after swimming will absorb the overnight dew and in the morning is wet. Our decks, vinyl seats, windshields, etc are all coated with a thick layer of dew. But the towel and these exterior surfaces will dry from the sun and fresh air.

However, this same damp, humid air also reaches other areas of our boats that are not exposed to the direct sun and abundant refreshed air. Enclosed cabins, the head, storage lockers, closets and cabinets, and the numerous "absorbent" surfaces like carpet, upholstered furniture, bedding, towels, clothing, etc. - these are prime areas for mold growth.

Familiar Greetings from Onboard Mold.

Mold certainly lets us know when it is present - sometimes visually, but always with a nose full of that familiar musty smell - like opening the canvas enclosure or the cabin door or a storage locker - especially after being closed-up for a few days. Or maybe when you open a cabinet drawer or closet in the stateroom and pull out a favorite tee shirt, pull it over your head and whoa! what is that stink??

Plain and simple... these odors are caused by actively growing mold and the gases it emits called Microbial Volatile Organic Compounds (aka MVOC's). And as disgusting as it may be, these MVOC's are the "waste product" left by healthy, growing mold.

Call it what you want, but the bottom line is we need to put an end to the healthy, growing mold onboard our boats. And this IS accomplished with the Boat Brite Mold & Mildew Remover / Preventer for boats!

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

The Boat Brite Mold & Mildew Remover and Preventer's mold-fighting ingredients are suspended in an ingenious humidity-sensitive polymer. With as little as 10% humidity the ingredients are activated - higher humidity levels release more of the ingredients. A liberal spray of the boat mold and mildew remover will leave an invisible "bio-shield" on a surface which would normally offer mold spores food and a place to mature into mold. When mold spores land on a surface treated with the boat Mold & Mildew Remover and Preventer, the active ingredients in the formulation immediately disable the spores and inhibit their growth and existence.

On existing boat mold when the Mold & Mildew Remover / Preventer is sprayed on it, the polymer encapsulates the mold, releasing the active ingredients to do their job.

This mold and mildew protection for boats will last for extended periods of time and will sustain through literally thousands of these mold spore invasions.

This photo was taken in our lab. It represents how the Mold & Mildew Remover and Preventer attacks mold even beyond where the product is directly applied.

Boat Brite Boat Mold & Mildew Remover / Preventer example

Using a Q-tip, the two dishes were "painted" with mold that we grew from spores. We then laid absorbent circular wafers onto the middle of the dishes - one of the wafers was moistened with the Boat Brite Mold & Mildew Remover / Preventer. As you can see the dish with the moistened wafer is virtually mold free with only a couple of small spots of mold around the outside edge of the dish. The other dish remains covered with mold.

This demo shows that if you have an existing boat mold problem the Boat Brite Mold & Mildew Remover and Preventer will end the problem. And it also shows that if you accidentally miss a spot with the mold prevention spray, protection extends slightly past the sprayed area.

Re-Application Frequency:

The Boat Brite Mold & Mildew Remover and Preventer for boats should be re-applied as a routine preventive-maintenance program to keep the mold and mildew protection intact without interruption. We recommend to reapply every 2-3 months, however in high traffic areas and persistent hot and humid climates, a monthly reapplication will assure the mold and mildew protection remains consistent.

And please know that the 16oz bottle of Mold & Mildew Remover and Preventer goes a long way. One bottle should easily last 2 seasons treating a 35' - 40' Express Cruiser. Always remember to shake well before using and keep it from freezing.

Please call with any questions.

From Captain John...

Fellow boaters, explaining how the Boat Brite Mold & Mildew Preventer works is challenging as it doesn't give "instant gratification" like a cleaning or polishing product. However, let me say, without hesitation, the product "flat-out works"! Every test we've done has proven this with really good results including an unscheduled test on my boat early this summer.

My boat was launched by the marina and (supposedly) all systems were checked and fully operational. This unfortunately, was not the case. When I got settled at my dock I connected the "dockside water" in which a hose connects the boat to the municipal water source available to each boat at their dock. I turned the water on, listened and looked and found no leaks and then left the boat. I returned about 2 hours later to find the cabin carpet saturated with water. The water was pouring out of the water heater drain valve which had not been tightened after winterizing. Needless to say I spent hours sucking up the water with a shop-vac. My biggest concern was about the mold that would surely flourish in the damp carpeting especially with the boat closed up during the week.

"My fears were completely eliminated by the Boat Brite Mold & Mildew Preventer"

After numerous passes with the shop-vac all standing water was extracted though the carpet was still damp. Just before I left the boat to head home for the week I applied a liberal spray of the Boat Brite Mold & Mildew Preventer to the carpet. The temps during the week were high as was the humidity. When I returned to the boat the next weekend and opened the door to the cabin the stuffy inside air was odor-free. Even in the small, enclosed compartment where the water heater is positioned - no smell and no signs of mold. I was really impressed, for this was a perfect environment for mold to really take hold.

Just the one application kept my boat mold free throughout the summer and fall.
